Frequently asked questions
Got questions? I’ve got answers.

I’m based in Westchester County, NY, and offer both in-person and online sessions for clients located anywhere in New York or New Jersey.
If you prefer to meet in person, I see clients at my cozy office in Pleasantville, NY.
-
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you in. We’ll explore what’s been feeling difficult lately, what kind of support might be most helpful right now, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting consistently helps build momentum and allows us to understand patterns more clearly.
As therapy progresses, the frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals. We’ll check in regularly about how things are feeling and what you need as things evolve.
The pace is flexible and collaborative, shaped around your life rather than a predefined schedule.
Many clients find a natural stopping point when things begin to feel more steady.

Like many specialty providers, I do not participate in insurance plans. However, some clients choose to use their health insurance out-of-network benefits to help cover the cost of therapy. If your plan offers this option, I can provide a Superbill (a detailed receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
I work with each client to find a fee arrangement that fits their situation. We can talk about fees during our initial consultation so you have a clear understanding before getting started.
Under federal law, you also have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate, which outlines the expected cost of therapy services. Because therapy needs vary, the estimate reflects an informed projection based on what we discuss about your goals and situation. If the expected costs change significantly, we’ll review and adjust the estimate together.
For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full fee, since that time has been reserved for you.
-
Yes. What you share in therapy is kept private and confidential, with a few exceptions required by law (for example, if you or someone else is at risk of serious harm).
We’ll review confidentiality in more detail during our first session, and I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have.
